but then you're playing 2 cards that dont swing honor really fast for you. or if they are hell bent on ambushing you then you go ahead and swing some joke honor like misako their guy out or wall of honor bounce and then they have overextended to get the second dishonor off that they needed to win and didnt get anything out of it because you were playing other cards that were all better anyway.

that and if they are good scorp players they are playing pox anyway and it doesnt matter what you do if you dont have meta to meta or a deck that is meta to a meta'd environment.

on a sader note, i, possibly the biggest fan of phix dueling am waiting on the suck to recede in time for the kotei season so people will wonder what the f**k i'm playing again. i can really see yuki here being a big part of the team that gets me there though.

Not any more they're not - if the "suck recede" on Phx duelling from Harbinger, then we know you'll swing with the duelling deck :lol:

I do think that he's got a heap of potential and want to get the time to build the deck with him in it to at least see what he performs like under the pressure situation. Getting around to it is the hardest thing at the moment.

I dunno, I think that there's potential for a duelling military/dishonour (with a final option of maybe crawling across the line with honour) though I think we need to reach just a little out of clan for this to work. Though that gives the option of pulling in an additional courtier for cheaper deflection away from the king-hit cards.

Not enough control (like Control) available to make this work just yet, perhaps, but I'm scratching around the pool of cards right now trying to think how this can come together.

Cheers,
ODie...

There is never a reason good enough to construct a Mantis deck. :mrgreen: Isawa Aitoru

I think you may have missed the first line of my post - I'm playing him in a Yojimbo Military deck :)

I find that a rough split of water cavalry guys and yojimbo redirection with Suitengu's to pull in big peeps makes for a really solid deck, as your opponents rarely get to target who they want to - early in the game because you're using cavalry/naval and later because of people like Kosoku and strategies like Final Sacrifice and the Chugo Seido holding. Yukihito is nice because he can step in for an ambush and fire off his printed kill action, or simply provide the intimidation factor that opposing me guarantees there's at least 2 or 3 ranged 7 or so attacks to fire off (with Ritual of Summoning + Yukihito etc).

I do find I ditch him fairly often against certain clans, such as mantis where bowing a guy to pick off a follower isn't so hot, but he has his use.

I'd also be a pretty big fan if we can get a solid duelling deck after Harbinger hits... I think we'd need at least one more solid duelist first, though. Fusaburu doesn't exactly wow me...

so for me there is a hierarchy;
1 - highest best hope to get to; a deck that i like to play that wins
2 - s'okay; deck that wins
3 - meh; deck i like to play and is sort of a "if you cant beat this you need to rebuild what you're working on for tourney play (see my ronin mil/dueling deck)"
4 - blah; a deck i dont like to play that doesnt win

at this point dueling in phix is more #3 than anything else i like the idea and i like how it should work but i am a spoiled rotten piece of s**t that actually likes to win games too, and until the fully goody bag of awesome that is phix dueling, in whatever capacity its suppose to be is unfurled, i'm not really going to get on board with yukihito or other cards that are at the current time meh only capacity.
