What ever the reason was that they made those cards originally unique doesn't change the fact there there have been unique non-experienced Masters before Isawa Mitsuko. Will that stop them in the future? Highly doubtful. I kinda like the fact that Masters should be unique even in the non-exp version. But, "eh", that's just me *shrugs* hehe I agree with you, and you can be assured that as long as I am in charge, Elemental masters will not be non-unique. It makes no sense except in rare instances (such as the Udori sisters). Anyway, been playing with Mitsuko and she rivals Ningen as my favorite Master. Simply amazing. Enjoy!

Isawa Ujihiro wrote: Hmm. I swore there was story about Mitsuko before the card came out. Didn't they name/mention the Master of Air in recent stories before this expansion? Eh, they kinda did the same with Sachi when he became MoE after Taeruko sacrificed herself to the spell. there was. http://www.kazenoshiro.com/kazenoshiro/8/h8e06p100.php. She was named the master of air right after Aweko became empress.

I'm very interested in this POV ^_^. Bryan Reese wrote: Anyway, been playing with Mitsuko and she rivals Ningen as my favorite Master. Simply amazing. Enjoy! Agreed, she is a damned good card.

I'm guessing that so long as the Elemental Masters are uniques, this gives Design the leeway to make their mechanics more potent than the average shugenja of comparable costing. So the Elemental Masters are more powerful shugenja overall without unbalancing the game. Not that we would object to a chance to play three 5F/6C (4PH) for 9G Shugenja • Duelist in the one game

I've been complaining for months that there has been no artwork/card for Mitsuko... Not knowing what an Elemental Master looks like bugged me so much.
... I am satisfied now. Must. Get.

Her backstory is nice, too. As far as stats go... Nice to see another non-Tensai Master. Bairei is not one if my memory is correct. And of course, Ningen is not, either.
Now the next question is... Which Master will be next? I'm very excited because my two favorite are the only options.

Isawa Mikan wrote: Nice to see another non-Tensai Master. I gotta disagree with you here. While I wouldn't say its mandatory, I do think that the Elemental Masters should be masters of their element. And except in some rare circumstances (e.g. Ningen) the Tensai are the ones with the greatest mastery of their chosen element.

This just proves that experience is more powerful than talent, actually. I like the idea of hard work over time overcoming innate excellence.

Mitsuko and Advanced Spellcraft make Kusadao an awesome choice for honor.
