Ah, Ikuko-chan... Love the art, love the keywords, love the trait, love the ability. The trait gives me all the more reason to bring shugenjas in my TST build too. And another samurai-ko for our decks(I suddenly remember Miiko...).

Ikuko is amazingly solid. Enjoy! I distinctly remember you promising us more info on that deck but we still haven't see anything . There was even some pretty heated discussion going on about it at the time if I recall correctly.

For the cost of bowing a Ring? What about Earth after you've cracked a province while trading them with your opponent? Or in the midst of a pitched battle when you've dropped Air, or Water and then snap! She's downed a unit (not personality, the whole unit!) and for chi buffing you can have a weapon (though not the Tempered No-dachi if you plan to duel); possibly one with an action that kills attachments, for better operation with the ability. I think she's a damned solid card, possibly could be better if there were more +2C items available but I suspect that they'll come... I'd love for one additional PH on her, for better interaction with Chasing Osano-wo, but... Last Gift? Armor of Command? Doji Armor? OK, the last one I need slapping over, but still. And flavour text that doesn't sound like it comes from a cheesy anime! This I am happy about too These are all 'ifs and buts and coconuts' Damen, the fact IS she is back to the good ol' days of synergy, as a peep on her own she is meh. To make her really, really work you need a shugenja, a +2 chi Item and a ring in play, all of which is possible, but that much effort for a bow? Yeh, that's good. PS she make me p*** myself with laughter when you have our easiest ring in play, the ring of Air

Remember she bows units with less cards than her chi. Odds of units having +2 attachments or more in Celelstial is going to odd, especially with all the attachment destruction out there. As for bowing her for her ability. Phoenix has soo much unbow tech to their disposal that it's sickening She's a good card, just not a "wow" card.

Sure, but at that GC you're not buying her first turn (or you're playing blitz wrong Shibajhomer wrote: To make her really, really work you need a shugenja, a +2 chi Item and a ring in play, all of which is possible, but that much effort for a bow? Yeh, that's good. What you really, really need is a deck that synergises with her. TST decks love attachment hate so as to best optimise that wonderful ability (so Rout > Settling, Overwhelming Pressure > Rebuke, say). Breath of the Dragon works well here too. Stripping off the attachments reduces the number of cards they're trotting about with and gets them into the range for Ikuko's ability. As others have noted, bowing Ikuko is probably smarter than bowing the Ring, because of the straighten tech - Fight as One, Raiden, heck, even Servitors of Stone, or something equally poor like Dutiful Yojimbo. I'll concede that point. Oddly, that lower Chi could also work in the benefit of exploiting the Duelist trait, right?
